Becoming A Blessing
John 17:13-21
13 “I am coming to you now, but I say these things while I am still in the world, so that they may have the full measure of my joy within them. 14 I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world. 15 My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. 16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of it. 17 Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth. 18 As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world. 19 For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified.
20 “My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, 21 that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.

NewDay Friends,
I am SO thankful for those people who both told me and showed me the love of Jesus during my early teenage years! I cannot imagine what my life would be like without Jesus! There are those people who see me through the eyes of Jesus. They value me, spend time with me, invest in me, and truly want God's best for me. They consistently model for me the kind of follower of Jesus I want to be. They have blessed me.
We know that God has always sought to reach and restore the world through His blessing. Since the time of Abraham, God has blessed his people so that we might bless those who do not know him. Over the next six weeks I want to invite you into five simple, yet potentially life-changing practices with those in your spheres of influence—friends, relatives, acquaintances, neighbors and colleagues—AND the people outside of God's family.
These ongoing actions help others come to a greater awareness of the message and love of Jesus. As we seek to authentically BLESS others daily in the midst of your deepening relationships with the people in your life, we believe God will use each of us to bless our world with Christ!
Let us always keep our highest priority of a joy-filled, fruitful life with this reminder, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
