He is Worthy

2 Corinthians 10:1-5

10 By the humility and gentleness of Christ, I appeal to you—I, Paul, who am “timid” when face to face with you, but “bold” toward you when away! I beg you that when I come I may not have to be as bold as I expect to be toward some people who think that we live by the standards of this world. For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

***There is no Live Streaming for this Sunday’s Service, May 3, 2024***

This week:
Matt and Emily Hofer, Missionaries with Cru will be sharing about their ministry with Cru this Sunday, May 5th. We are very excited to hear about all God is doing in their midst, as they serve Him in Thailand.
Immediately following worship, please stay for a Fiesta style Pot-luck, as we celebrate Cinco de Mayo and share fellowship with one another.
We also will plan for conversation and prayer together after church to process questions about the budget, recent decisions made about the budget and staffing, Melinda's resignation and share next steps about NewDay's Children and Youth Ministry.

You are invited to attend and contribute to the Heart, Mind and Strength Assessment on May 7th, 6-8 pm. Salem Road Covenant is sharing their fireside room with us, which we are so grateful! Rev. Jon Kramka from the Northwest Conference Office will be with us, walking us through this important tool for our church and search committee process. This is a very important night, to share and learn about who we are as a Church body. Children will be cared for by Pastor Kari and family this night, so NewDay can wholeheartedly participate. :) See you there!

Unite is happening this Summer! This is an awesome opportunity for our 9th-12th grade students to experience a week of worship, spiritual formation, fun and connection with students from across the United States at Bowling Green University. This is an event that happens every 3 years in the Evangelical Covenant Church. Please email Pastor Kari @ kari@newdaycov.org if you are interested in going, or want more information.

Ethiopia Trip: Letters For Sponsored Students

From June 4-13, a group of eight people from NewDay will be traveling to visit the Addis Ketema Carepoint, located in Awassa, Ethiopia. If you are currently sponsoring a student, we would love to deliver your sponsored student a letter/pictures from you. You can bring any letters/pictures on Sundays over the next few weeks, or contact Emily Dirks to arrange drop off (emilydirks@gmail.com).

We also plan to host a fundraising garage sale on May 17-18, so we invite you to save your garage sale items! Good condition garage sale items can be dropped off at the cabin on Thursday, May 16.
